Exactly four and a half months following the previous coach's initial media briefing as Rangers manager, successor the German coach faced the media at Ibrox for the first time.

The scale of the challenge facing him is widely recognized, given his predecessor's chaotic and unsuccessful 123-day spell.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday manager was joined by chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the much-criticized duo of sporting director Kevin Thelwell and CEO Stewart.

However, what precisely did we learn from the 36-year-old German's first public appearance as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Main Priority - Victory Comes First

One thing came through loud and clear from Rohl's first appearance before the local press - he recognizes the necessity to win matches, and do so rapidly.

The previous manager Russell Martin lasted only 17 games and four months as manager, so the inquiry arose about how long the new man believes is realistic to transform the underperforming squad.

Although deftly avoiding a specific response that could bring later expectations, Rohl's communication was quite clear.

"Hopefully very quickly," he said. "That is essential.
"In football you have not much opportunity. You can discuss long-term vision but we know it concerns the short-term and that period involves winning games. That is what I demand.
"Another aspect remains obvious - I need every squad member to comprehend how we want to play. I return to my main theme: victory comes first, entertaining football and unity. By following this sequence, I believe that I'll stay very long here."

Expectations are Normal

The previous manager needed security protection to exit the Falkirk Stadium after his final match as manager.

We've witnessed how toxic environments can turn at football clubs when performances are poor. Protests have nearly become a regular aspect of game day experience on each part of the city currently.

As Rangers' youngest manager in history, the inquiry asked about which attributes Rohl believes he has that would allow him to handle, never mind excel, in one of the most pressurized roles in British football?

"I think pressure in football is normal," he commented. "One needs to understand that rapidly.
"I believe certain individuals could reference my youth but I'm a decade and a half in this career. I experienced a great chance to be at Bayern Munich and serve as only an assistant manager, but I felt what it means to be a head coach and the demands you face.
"When you start winning games and then some critics claim you need to produce entertaining soccer. That's the next stage but precisely my intention. I relish that challenge and I'm excited for the future."

The Sporting Director Defends Striker Acquisition & Appointing Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were plenty of inquiries from journalists directed at Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the hiring of his son as recruitment chief, with fans skeptical about his credentials for the position.

However, he justified and clarified the choice to bring Thelwell Jnr to Ibrox.

"It remains uncomfortable to listen and optically I think we all agreed when we took this step to appoint him that he'd be viewed in a particular way," Thelwell stated.
"The truth of the situation is that we aim to attract the very best players to this club.
"My perspective on his professional path and background is he didn't need family help in football.
"He's worked at Aston Villa as a senior scout, he then joined Norwich as head of scouting and then got promoted to development role.
"Prior to our hiring him, multiple top division clubs wanted to acquire him. Our approach right at the start of the process was consult with Patrick, Andrew and vice-chairman Paraag Marathe about this matter.
"I was highly transparent and I think Robbie probably underwent a stricter process than anybody else employee by the team.
"What I do know is that he'll labor constantly to achieve success for Rangers and I anticipate to him proving that he'll become an excellent staff member for the club."

Additionally, Thelwell defended the acquisition of forward Chermiti, who joined the club for an alleged initial fee of £8m, having failed to score in 24 games for Everton.

The sporting director who transferred the Portuguese youth international to Merseyside from Sporting - once more for large funds in a fifteen million pound deal.

The question came if he stands by his multi-million pound purchase, who hasn't yet score in seven matches for Rangers.

"Absolutely, completely," Thelwell answered. "I think Youssef Chermiti represents who's got great ability.
"I haven't doubted him in any way. Similarly, I believe Danny will help to get the best out of the player.
"These are initial stages for the young player, he's a promising prospect and naturally with inexperienced players they sometimes take time.
"But I'm certain throughout of his career here he's going to prove that he is highly capable footballer."

Stewart Acknowledges Supporters' Frustration and Anger

The chief executive was facing scrutiny, given the vitriol that has been directed his way by some club fans.

There was even a banner in the stadium during the recent draw with Dundee United inviting him - and Thelwell - to pack his bags before they were packed for them.

Like his sporting director, Stewart didn't evade the topic.

"I totally appreciate the frustration and hurt that fans are experiencing because performances this season haven't been good enough and nobody's happy with them," he stated.
"The hurt and disappointment they feel is mirrored inside the boardroom.
"Also understand that there must exist a channel for that dissatisfaction and as chief executive, I'm responsible.
"I serve as focal point for those and my responsibility as a
